Release by MM `Fans` Worldwide 2006-03-29, MM `Fans` Worldwide - Talk about optimistic: Monroe Mann, a 28 year-old New York actor has billed himself a "Future Oscar Winner", buying up the web domain www.FutureOscarWinner.com and writing several books on the subject of fame and how to achieve instant success.

Despite his literary claims, Mann has been in the acting gig for over 7 years and only has a background role to his name in the critically reviled 2002 flop `Swimf@n` where he played a person in a coma. One one hazard a guess that Mann`s fame books (one entitled `The Theatrical Juggernaut -The Psyche of the Star` published in 2001), which claim to be based entirely on his own experiences in acting, don`t hold many stories, especially when you consider that the book was released a year before his one and only film appearance.

But then Monroe seems to see the entertainment world in a different way than the rest of us. He teaches at his `Unstoppable Artists` school in New York, that "Talent is ASSUMED" and all that is required to be a major player in movies is to understand networking and have business savvy. With only one background film credit to his name, quite how he gets people to pay $3,000 per class to believe this is a puzzle waiting to be solved.

Mann has his fingers in almost every cookie jar in town. Besides his success books and success school, he also runs a flyer business from his parents house (with whom he still lives), owns a production company (locodawn.com) which he founded in 2001 which is yet to produce anything (and is similarly run from his parents house), sings in a "ROMP" band called Running for Famous, and runs a club for famous people (breakdiving.com) whom he hopes to network with and thus become famous. Unfortunately his fame club only has 2 members: himself and his writing companion.

With so many things going on in order to make himself a super-star, it is little wonder that Monroe was recently declared bankrupt after running up bills of $65,000. Ironically enough in 2001 his fame school claimed to teach actors "how to manage debt".

Perhaps if he tried taking acting classes instead of pretending acting talent isn`t a prerequisite for acting success then he might indeed get somewhere in the entertainment world.
